Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a BAS Technician to operate, maintain, and enhance the hospital's building automation and control systems. You will support HVAC, energy management, and critical infrastructure to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, interpreting drawings, and collaborating with Plant Operations, Facilities, Engineering and Infection Prevention to sustain compliant, energy-efficient environments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HVAC or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 3–5 years of experience with building automation systems and controls.
• Working knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems; read control sequences.
• Experience with BAS platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Schneider Electric.
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, IP-based networks.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings.
• Experience in acute-care hospital environments and healthcare compliance.
• Familiarity with infection control risk assessments and environmental monitoring.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; energy optimization knowledge.
• Understanding of life-safety requirements and hospital critical environments.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
• Proficient with BAS software, trending, reporting and analytics; strong communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with Google Suite / MS Office.
