Sodexo is hiring a Barista at PIH Health Whittier Hospital. This part-time role focuses on exceptional customer service while crafting hand-made beverages. Expect varied shifts, with weekends/holidays possible.

You will handle cash, maintain clean work areas, and assist with menu education and upselling. The job emphasizes food safety, inventory awareness, and the ability to stand and move for long periods while serving guests with friendly, efficient service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Customer service experience is required.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, standards and inventory controls.
• Starbucks Barista certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with quick, friendly, and personalized service.
• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages to order.
• Maintain swift delivery of beverages and food items.
• Educate guests about menu offerings and upsell when appropriate.
• Arrange supplies to create attractive displays at the bar.
• Regularly clean coffee machines and work areas.
• Record sales, handle money, and operate a cash register per procedures.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds; occasionally 50 pounds.
