Job summary

Suncrest Hospice is seeking a full-time weekend RN in Iowa. This position will work Friday starting at 4:30 pm until Monday at 8:00 am. The RN will provide hospice care, admissions, and patient visits as needed, with strong clinical and communication skills to support patients and families.

Applicants must be an RN in good standing with at least one year of licensed experience. It is preferred to have admissions and on-call experience and the ability to travel within the service area.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in good standing in the state(s) of practice with one year of experience under license.
• Admissions and On-call experience preferred.
• Works well within a team environment to collaborate with nurses, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and CNA leadership.
• Can work independently from a day-to-day basis with phone, email and written communication, and meetings with healthcare professionals.
• Time management to manage visits, documentation, and urgent meetings.
• Ability to learn an electronic medical records system.
• Willingness to drive with reliable transportation and travel across the service area.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and services for hospice patients, visiting patients at homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals.
• Complete hospice admissions and patient visits as needed.
• Answer calls from patients, families and customers.
• Make nursing visits for symptom management, deaths, and admissions as needed.
• Advocate for hospice services and Suncrest Hospice.

Suncrest Hospice is seeking a full-time weekend RN. This position will work Friday starting at 4:30 pm until Monday at 8:00 am.

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing care and services for a group of hospice patients, visiting patients where they reside, which could include private homes, assisted living facilities and hospitals. As a RN, you will complete hospice admissions and patient visits as needed. Applicants must have great clinical and communication skills. The RN is responsible for answering calls from patients, families and customers. The RN will make nursing visits for symptom management, deaths, and admissions as needed. This RN must also be passionate about hospice care and be a great advocate for both hospice services and Suncrest Hospice.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (in good standing) in the state(s) of practice with one year of experience under license
• Admissions and On-call experience preferred
• Works well within a team environment to collaborate daily with nurses, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and CNA leadership.
• Work closely with patients on a 1-1 level but get strong support from a patient care team.
• Can work independently and on your own from a day-to-day basis with activities which include: phone, email and written communication, meetings with a variety of healthcare professionals, and an understanding of hospice rules and regulations.
• Time management skills to manage visits, documentation, meetings (i.e.: to scheduled visits, attend required meetings, respond to urgent needs by prioritizing and triaging multiple concerns)
• Ability to learn an electronic medical records system.
• Must be willing to drive with reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance, to be able to travel across the service area
