Job summary

VitalCaring Group in Ocean Springs, MS is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation, recruit and educate volunteers, and collaborate with the hospice team. This role emphasizes supervising volunteers, maintaining monthly statistics, and supporting budget planning for program development, with ongoing opportunities for advanced training.

Qualifications

College degree required; advanced degree preferred in human services.
Minimum of two years’ experience in a health care setting; hospice/volunteer experience preferred.
Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services.
Understands hospice philosophy and patient-family needs.
Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation program.
Recruits, educates, and selects volunteers from multiple recruitment sessions per year.
Establish a need for volunteer services with patients, families, and the hospice team.
Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain monthly statistics and participate in interdisciplinary team activities and budget planning.
