Job summary

West River Care is seeking a Part-Time Volunteer Program Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and manage all volunteer activities. The role includes training, recruitment, and collaboration with the hospice team to support person-centered care, with a starting rate of $24 per hour for 24 hours per week.

The position requires organizing and supervising volunteers, maintaining records, and participating in budget and quality improvement efforts to ensure top-tier service delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience in a healthcare/hospice setting preferred.
• Must supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services and events.
• Ability to work in a team and understand hospice philosophy.
• Must be organized and able to develop volunteer hospice personnel to meet needs.
• Able to manage a group of individuals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation program.
• Recruit, educate and select volunteers from at least 3 recruitment sessions per year.
• Establish a need for volunteer services with the patient and family/caregiver and entire hospice team.
• Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Maintains monthly statistics.
• Maintains current personnel files.
• Attends interdisciplinary group meetings.
• Provides information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services.
• Participates as needed in the budget preparation for program development.
• Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
• Accepts and performs other related duties and responsibilities.
• Applies "5 Star" customer service approach in all aspects of job.
• Committed to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.
• Actively supports Wingate's commitment to providing "5 Star" service on all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
• Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
• Reports to the appropriate managers any known or suspected violations of policy and procedures, regulations or standards of conduct.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
