It’s Just Better Here. We’re hiring for a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to join our dynamic team.

Location

This role will work with our clients in Lisle, IL, and surrounding areas.

Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, coordinate, and manage all volunteer program activities in the organization.
  2. Develop and run the Hospice Volunteer program under the guidelines of Hospice regulations.
  3. Recruit, educate, and select volunteers.
  4. Determine the need for volunteer services with patients, families/caregivers, and the entire Hospice team.
  5. Develop a volunteer orientation/documented checklist program.
  6. Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner.
  7. Maintain monthly statistics.
  8. Work with Human Resources on maintaining volunteer personnel files.
  9. Reevaluate the volunteer program as necessary.
  10. Coordinate support/education meetings.
  11. Attend interdisciplinary group meetings to update on patient status.
  12. Provide information to individuals and community groups about Hospice volunteer services.
  13. Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor.
Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Qualifications:
  1. College degree preferred.
  2. Healthcare experience preferred.
  3. Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred.
  4. Competence and proficiency in understanding the Hospice Volunteer program.
  5. Understanding of the Hospice philosophy.
  6. Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services.
  7. Ability to organize and develop volunteer Hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs.
  8. Ability to manage a group of individuals providing volunteer time who are considered employees.
  9. Experience working independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  10. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  11. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  12. Good team building skills.
  13. Basic computer skills.
