Location
This role will work with our clients in Lisle, IL, and surrounding areas.
Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all volunteer program activities in the organization.
- Develop and run the Hospice Volunteer program under the guidelines of Hospice regulations.
- Recruit, educate, and select volunteers.
- Determine the need for volunteer services with patients, families/caregivers, and the entire Hospice team.
- Develop a volunteer orientation/documented checklist program.
- Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Maintain monthly statistics.
- Work with Human Resources on maintaining volunteer personnel files.
- Reevaluate the volunteer program as necessary.
- Coordinate support/education meetings.
- Attend interdisciplinary group meetings to update on patient status.
- Provide information to individuals and community groups about Hospice volunteer services.
- Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor.
Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Qualifications:
- College degree preferred.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred.
- Competence and proficiency in understanding the Hospice Volunteer program.
- Understanding of the Hospice philosophy.
- Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services.
- Ability to organize and develop volunteer Hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs.
- Ability to manage a group of individuals providing volunteer time who are considered employees.
- Experience working independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Good team building skills.
- Basic computer skills.
