BroadReach Hospice in Chatham, MA is seeking a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and support volunteers while ensuring compliance with hospice regulations. You will collaborate with clinical teams to match volunteers to patient needs and lead ongoing education, engagement, and retention programs.

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Experience in program development, management and clinical supervision preferred.
• Ability to relate to terminally ill patients and their families.
• Understanding and support of hospice philosophy.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communication skills.
• Disposition to work harmoniously with a wide variety of people and teams.

Responsabilidades

• Recruit, interview and select volunteers for hospice programs.
• Oversee orientation and ongoing training and supervision of volunteers to meet Medicare COP for hospice program.
• Review appropriateness of volunteer involvement upon referrals from nursing/social work staff.
• Supervise and serve as a resource for volunteers within the Hospice Team.
• Complete IDG documentation and care plans accurately and timely.
• Attend biweekly IDG meetings and contribute to care planning.
• Coordinate annual volunteer recognition event.
• Support volunteer retention through groups, calls, flyers and individual meetings.

PositionOverview:

Responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising, andsupporting hospice volunteers while ensuring compliance with hospiceregulations and maintaining accurate volunteer records. This role alsocollaborates with clinical teams to match volunteers with patient needs. Overseeongoing volunteer education, engagement, and retention programs.

Duties& Responsibilities:

• - Recruit,interview, and select volunteers for hospice programs
• - Responsiblefor orientation and ongoing training and supervision of volunteersconsistent with the duties and functions to be performed to satisfyMedicare COP for hospice program.
• - Reviewsappropriateness of volunteer involvement upon referral from nursing/socialwork personnel.
• - Withother members of the Hospice Team, provide supervision and serve as aresource and liaison for volunteers.
• - CompletesIDG documentation and care plans accurately and timely.
• - Activeparticipant in biweekly IDG meeting
• - Coordinatesan annual volunteer recognition event.
• - Responsiblefor volunteer retention. This may include support groups, telephone calls,flyers, meeting with the volunteers on an individual basis.

Qualificationsfor the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator:

• - Bachelor’sdegree or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
• - Experiencein program development, management and clinical supervision are preferred.
• - Abilityto relate to terminally ill patients and their families.
• - Understandingand support of hospice philosophy
• - Excellentorganizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communicationskills.
• - Mustpossess the disposition and personality to work harmoniously with a widevariety of people and all levels of staff and interactprofessionally as a member of a multidisciplinary team
