Job summary

VNS Health invites a part-time Team Physician to oversee medical care for hospice patients in Staten Island. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, guide PPOCs, and ensure accurate documentation of services rendered, while addressing prognosis and symptom management.

The role requires NY licensed physicians, with internal medicine, family practice, or hospice/palliative specialization. Travel and registration requirements may apply; CPR is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed and currently registered to practice medicine in New York State.
• PECOS enrollment required.
• OPRA enrollment required.
• DEA license required.
• Board eligible/certified in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Hospice and Palliative Medicine or related specialty.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees medical care and treatment of hospice patients and guides staff and volunteers.
• Collaborates with IDT to develop and revise the physician plan of care (PPOC).
• Documents all patient care services provided.
• Intervenes on revocation issues and reviews with IDT.
• Provides medical input on prognosis, pain and symptom management, and medication review.
