Job summary

Tri-Cities Chaplaincy is seeking a Hospice Support Manager in Richland, WA. This role provides operational and clinical leadership for hospice support services, overseeing intake, triage, admissions, float nurse support, liaison, and staff coordination.

The position requires an RN with ADN or BSN, 4+ years post-education clinical experience, and flexibility for evenings/weekends. CPR/BLS certification and a valid driver’s license are required, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Current unrestricted Washington State RN license.
  • ADN required at time of hire.
  • BSN required or to be obtained within 36 months of hire.
  • Minimum four years of post-education clinical experience.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • CPR/BLS certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; driving is essential.
  • Safety Sensitive position; pre-employment drug screen (cannabis) required.

Anticipated Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm

This position participates in the after-hours administrator on-call rotation; candidates must be available to provide after hours support as required.

Position Overview

The Hospice Support Manager provides operational and clinical leadership for hospice support services, overseeing the intake, triage, admissions, float nurse support, liaison, and ancillary staff. This role ensures timely, accurate, and patient-centered Hospice and Palliative Care. This role supervises support staff, facilitates coordination of care activities, and ensures compliance with agency policies, regulatory requirements and quality standards.

The position serves as a leadership resource for staff, patients, and families, supporting day-to-day operations, staff development, and continuity of care. While primarily managing, the Hospice Support Manager must provide direct patient care to meet patient, staff, and agency needs.

This role includes participation in leadership, staff training, quality improvement initiatives, and the administer on-call rotation. Reliable travel to patient homes, facilities, and community locations is required. The Hospice Support Manager collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary team and leadership to promote timely patient admission to Tri‑Cities Chaplaincy services, efficient workflow, high-quality patient care, and a supportive environment for staff and families.

Requirements
  • Current unrestricted Washington State Registered Nurse’s License
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required at time of hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required or must be obtained within thirty‑six (36) months of hire.
  • Minimum four (4) years of post-education clinical experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Certification in Cardio‑Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Safety (BLS)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation, as driving is an essential function of this role. Must meet insurance eligibility requirements
  • This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen which includes cannabis testing in Washington State.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in program development and coordination
  • Experience in home health, and hospice nursing.
  • Two (2) years of leadership experience in management or supervisory capacity.
  • Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN) from the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages

Compensation

Hiring Range: $86,969.26/annually – $132,114.15/annually

$3,000 Sign-On Bonus: New hires are eligible to receive a $3,000 bonus upon successful completion of 90 days of continuous employment in good standing.

At Tri‑Cities Chaplaincy, we carefully establish pay ranges for our positions by taking various factors into account, including education, certifications, knowledge, skills, experience, internal equity, and market conditions. These ranges are tailored to match the diverse programs and services we offer. Our goal is to ensure fair compensation for candidates based on these factors while maintaining internal peer equity.

The starting pay range offered to new hires, depending on experience and qualifications.

  • Vacation: Accrued each pay period based on your hours worked.
  • Sick Leave: Accrued in accordance with Washington State Sick Leave Law.
  • Wellness Days: After completion of the 90‑day introductory period, employees may convert up to two (2) accrued sick days annually into wellness days.

  • Air Ambulance: Discounted rate for Life Flight.
  • Retirement 401(K) Plan: Employees may contribute upon hire; employer matching of up to 5% begins the following January or June depending on Hire date after 1 year of employment.
  • Mileage Reimbursement: $0.72 per mile, for eligible positions. (Subject to change based on IRS rates)
  • Premium Pay: Bilingual (Spanish) pay premium (subject to proficiency verification through ALTA language services)
  • Certifications: Certification‑based premium pay, as applicable and approved.
  • Tuition Assistance: Up to $5,250 annually after one (1) year of employment.
  • Professional Development: Access to continuing education through platforms such as Relias Learning and CAPC.

  • Transportation: Maintain reliable personal transportation. Maintain a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance per state requirements.
  • Health Requirements: Satisfy state and agency health requirements by providing proof of immunization, declinations, or approved accommodations as applicable.
  • Screenings: Pass criminal background and drug screenings.
  • Physical Demands: Meet the physical and environmental requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.(see attached physical requirements)
  • Training and Orientation: Complete agency and departmental orientation and required training programs.
  • Continuing Education: Complete ongoing education, policy reviews, and training be designated deadlines.
  • Licensure and Certification: Maintain current licensure(s) and certifications(s) required for the role.
  • Language Proficiency: Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Work Availability: Be available to work as assigned or scheduled.
