Job summary

Tri-Cities Chaplaincy is seeking a Clinical Education Manager in Richland, WA to lead infection prevention initiatives, onboard nurses and CNAs, and drive ongoing education across hospice programs. Qualifications

Position: Clinical Education Manager

Location: Richland, WA

Type: Full Time Exempt

Anticipated Schedule: Mon – Fri 8:00am – 4:30pm

This position participates in the after-hours administrator on-call rotation; candidates must be available to provide after hours support as required.

$3,000 Sign-On Bonus: New hires are eligible to receive a $3,000 bonus upon successful completion of 90 days of continuous employment in good standing.

Position Overview

The Clinical Education Manager promotes the safety and well-being of patients, employees, volunteers, and the community by leading infection prevention initiatives, supporting ongoing professional development, and driving education initiatives with partner facilities and clinics. This role plans, implements, and evaluates infection control programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., DOH, CMS, OSHA) and serves as a liaison with public health agencies as needed.

This position serves as a cross-trained operational resource to ensure continuity of leadership and patient care across hospice clinical programs, including coverage for the Hospice House Manager and the In-Home Hospice Manager during planned and unplanned absences. It leads clinical education efforts by onboarding nurses and certified nursing assistants (CNAs), providing regular in-services, training sessions, and continuous learning opportunities that support employee competencies, regulatory compliance, and excellence in hospice and palliative care. The RN ensures that clinical education aligns with end-of-life care, regulatory compliance, and clinical excellence.

The Clinical Education Manager provides educational outreach to schools, healthcare facilities, clinics, and community groups to educate and raise awareness of hospice and palliative care services. These efforts strengthen community partnerships and promote informed care decisions that support patients and families.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead infection prevention initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  2. Coordinate onboarding and ongoing education for nurses and CNAs; deliver regular in-services and training.
  3. Develop and evaluate education programs that support regulatory compliance and clinical excellence.
  4. Serve as a liaison with partner facilities, clinics, and public health agencies.
  5. Provide cover as needed for Hospice leadership during planned or unplanned absences.
  6. Support end-of-life care education and alignment with hospice standards.
Qualifications
  1. Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Washington State.
  2. CPR/BLS certification.
  3. Washington State Food Worker Card issued by the Department of Health.
  4. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
  5. Strong teaching, communication, and public speaking skills.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
  7. Knowledge of adult learning principles and educational methodologies.
  8. Experience with infection control surveillance, data analysis, and reporting.
  9. Availability to work weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays as part of the on-call rotation.
  10. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; must meet insurance eligibility requirements.
  11. Safety Sensitive designation with ability to pass pre-employment drug screen (cannabis testing in WA).
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
  2. Experience in clinical education and/or infection prevention.
  3. Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN).
  4. Certification in Infection Control (CIC).
  5. Hospice and/or palliative care experience.
  6. Experience in supervision, team leadership, or staff development.
  7. Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Compensation

Hiring Range: $80,740.04 annually – $128,544.00 annually

$3,000 Sign-On Bonus: New hires eligible after 90 days of continuous employment in good standing.

Note regarding the listed pay range: Pay ranges are established based on education, certifications, knowledge, skills, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
