Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in religious studies or related field required.
• Master's degree in theology, divinity, or pastoral studies required.
• Certification preferred; ordination/endorsement often required.
• Ongoing commitment to professional development and CPE.
• Experience in hospice care and ability to work in interfaith settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct spiritual care to patients and families/caregivers.
• Conduct spiritual assessments and participate in care planning.
• Coordinate with community chaplains and spiritual counselors.
• Maintain records of spiritual care services and communications with the care team.
• Attend interdisciplinary group meetings and support the care team on spiritual care matters.
• Recruit community chaplains and volunteers; educate congregations about hospice care.
• Provide funeral or memorial services as requested.
