Job summary

Spirit Hospice of Georgia is seeking a licensed Social Worker to join our interdisciplinary team. You will walk with patients and families through meaningful moments, help families navigate grief and paperwork, and provide counseling with compassion and presence.

The ideal candidate holds a current Georgia Social Work license, hospice or medical/mental health experience, and demonstrates strong communication, organizational, and advocacy skills.

Spirit Hospice believes that a big heart is a superpower, and we’re looking for an additional licensed Social Worker superhero! As an equal pillar to nurses and chaplains, we want someone who can hold space for others with grace, strength, and maybe a little humor on the side.

What you’ll do:

• Walk alongside patients and families through some of life’s hardest but most meaningful moments.
• Help families navigate the messy parts.. grief, fear, and paperwork.
• Lead with compassion, advocate fiercely, and remind people that even in loss there’s still love and dignity.
• Collaborate closely with nurses, chaplains, aides, doctors and volunteers in our interdisciplinary team (IDT), ensuring care is heart-centered.
• Develop and execute patient-specific care plans
• Offer resources, counseling, and that grounding presence people remember long after the goodbye.

What you bring:

• A current Social Work License in the state of Georgia.
• Hospice, medical, or mental health experience. (and if not hospice yet, a calling to it)
• A steady heart that can hold both tears and laughter in the same breath.
• Strong communication, organizational, and advocacy skills.
