Job summary

Interim HealthCare Hospice in Michigan is seeking a compassionate Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to provide home-based care for patients with six months or less to live. You will partner with an interdisciplinary team to carry out patient plans, monitor vitals, manage pain, and educate families.

This role offers a 4:30pm-8:00am Monday through Thursday schedule, competitive weekly pay of $72k-$75k, 1:1 patient ratios, flexible assignments, online CEUs, tuition discounts with Rasmussen University,

Qualifications

• RN with active, unrestricted license in the State of Michigan
• At least one year of relevant RN experience (required)
• Community health and medical-surgical experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide home-based care to patients with six months or less to live, focused on quality of life
• Work with an interdisciplinary team to carry out the patient’s plan of care
• Perform patient assessments, check vitals, evaluate breathing, monitor pain, administer prescribed meds and treatments

As a Hospice Registered Nurse, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide home-based care to patients with six months or less to live, focused on quality of life


• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team comprised of a physician, LPN, CNA, HHA, social worker, chaplain and volunteers to carry out the patient’s plan of care


• Perform patient assessments, check vitals, evaluate breathing, monitor pain, administer prescribed medication and treatments


• Ensure accessibility of medical equipment, prescribed oxygen, medication and other supplies


• Educate family on the patient’s prognosis, changes in care plan, medication and hospice goals


• Take a holistic approach to care that engages the patient’s mind, body, spirit and family

A few must-haves for Hospice Registered Nurses:

• RN with active, unrestricted license in the State of Michigan


• At least one (1) year of relevant experience as an RN (required)


• Community health and a wide range of Medical-Surgical experience (preferred)


• Reliable transportation with a valid state driver's license and current car insurance
