Executive Director Responsibilities:

As an Executive Director, you will report directly to the Assistant Vice President of Operations. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of your assigned hospice location, overseeing the admission process, ancillary services, personnel supervision, and ongoing communication with leadership.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrate a commitment to excellence through quality care and service.
  2. Incorporate continuous quality improvement principles in daily activities.
  3. Ensure compliance with requirements and standards set by accrediting, licensing, regulatory agencies, and law.
  4. Develop and implement policies and procedures.
  5. Manage Human Resources effectively, including staff communication, orientation, training, supervision, and performance evaluation.
  6. Manage office operations, including planning, documentation, quality monitoring, and emergency response.
  7. Coordinate with physicians, patients, families, and staff to address issues and needs.
  8. Supervise and evaluate patient satisfaction surveys in collaboration with the Administrator.
  9. Manage financial resources prudently, including budgeting, monitoring expenses, and financial reviews.

About You

  • Education: Registered Nurse with at least an Associate’s Degree in Nursing; a Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) and Master’s Degree in related fields are preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum one year of management/supervisory experience; two or more years in hospice/home care; three years of clinical patient care preferred; healthcare sales/management experience is a plus.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid nursing license in the state of employment, CPR certification, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
  • Skills: Proficiency with computers, communication tools, and transportation.

Potential titles for this role include RN Branch Director, RN Branch Manager, Hospice Branch Director, among others.
