Job summary

Compassus is seeking a Hospice Registered Nurse to model Compassus values and provide routine and emergency assessment, educational, and evaluative services to patients and families as part of an IDT. The RN will promote comfort, coordinate care, and participate in on-call after-hours coverage to meet agency staffing needs.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, is licensed in the state, and has prior hospice, oncology, home health, or long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license in state of employment.
• Hospice, oncology, home health, or long-term care experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year nursing practice or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and emergency patient assessments as required by policy.
• Provides clinical and psycho-social care per the plan of care and case management.
• Records observations, treatments, and relevant information; documents changes in care.
• Communicates with IDT, Medical Director, and attending physicians about symptom management and response to treatment.
• Educates patient and family on care, disease process, dying process, symptom control, and wound care.
