Job summary

Preferred Hospice of St Louis (Ballwin) is seeking Registered Nurses to serve Ballwin, MO and surrounding areas. We offer a family atmosphere, schedule flexibility, and autonomy that comes with hospice care. We prefer full time but part time and PRN roles are also available.

Nurses provide home and facility care, perform head-to-toe assessments, symptom management, and patient education. The RN Case Manager supervises LPNs and CNAs, coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team, and supports

• Must be licensed in Missouri as an RN and live within commutable distance to the Ballwin office.
• Willing to train the right candidate; a gentle, loving heart and ability to work as part of a team are essential.
• Computer and smartphone skills for EMR charting, email, and mileage calculation apps.

Responsibilities

• Provide head-to-toe assessments and symptom management in patients' homes and facilities.
• Supervise LPNs and CNAs; monitor medications and DME needs; provide wound care as needed.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to support patients and families facing terminal illness.
• Deliver emotional support and education on death and dying.

Job description

Preferred Hospice of St Louis (Ballwin) is a well-established hospice company! We provide a family atmosphere and some flexibility with schedules. You will not be stuck in four walls or subjected to a monotonous schedule. Hospice can be the most rewarding job you will ever have. Lots of autonomy and independence in this position.

We have 5 offices across the state of Missouri covering over 65 counties total!

We are looking for RNs to work out of the Ballwin, MO office. We prefer Full Time but have Part Time and PRN available as well.

Hourly rate with mileage reimbursement.

DUTIES

• Hospice nurses see patients in private homes, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and anywhere a patient calls home.
• Hospice nurses perform a head-to-toe assessment, provide symptom management and skilled care to patients facing terminal illnesses as well and providing emotional support and education on death and dying.
• The RN Case Manager supervises LPNs and CNAs, monitors medication lists and appropriateness of said mediations, assesses for DME needs, provides wound care and other treatments as needed.
• Hospice Nurses works with the Interdisciplinary Team made up of RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Social Workers, Chaplains, Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Bereavement Staff, Volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS

• The successful candidate must be currently licensed in the State of Missouri as an RN and live with in a commutable distance to the office.
• Willing to train the right candidate. A gentle, loving heart is a must. Must be able to provide love and support to patients and families facing a terminal illness. Must be able to work as a team player and represent our company well in the community.
• Computer and smart phone skills for EMR charting, email, apps for mileage computation, etc.
• The offices are open Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Reliable transportation and car insurance required. Some call required.
• Hourly rate plus mileage reimbursement. Recent increase in mileage company-wide. Benefits available for Full Time status.
