Job summary

MercyOne Genesis Hospice Care is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide holistic, patient-centered end-of-life care. The RN conducts assessments, plans and evaluates care, and collaborates with families and the health team to manage pain and symptoms in line with professional standards.

Responsibilities include 12-hour admit shifts, 36 hours per week, and a rotating weekend schedule (0900–2100) every third weekend. A valid Iowa RN license and BLS are required; Hospice certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license in Iowa required at time of hire
• Illinois license required within 6 months
• Associate Degree in Nursing
• More than 2 years experience required
• Hospice and palliative care nursing certification preferred
• BLS

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, culturally competent holistic care for terminally ill patients and families
• Perform assessments, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Manage pain and symptoms to maximize quality of life
• Adhere to Professional Practice Standards and participate in quality monitoring and performance
