Job summary

Mission Healthcare seeks a Quality Program Auditor to ensure hospice compliance with CMS and company standards. You will audit processes, review clinical documentation, and partner with education, compliance and leadership to improve outcomes.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to work independently, and travel to branches for regulatory readiness. Hybrid schedule (50/50 travel/remote) supports our mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with allowed licensure and related field degree.
• Experience conducting audits to CMS guidelines and regulations.
• Strong written/oral communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with Home Care Home Base is highly preferred.

Position Summary

The Quality Program Auditor ensures compliance with hospice quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies through audits, process reviews, and performance improvement initiatives. This role partners closely with clinical, education, compliance, and leadership teams to identify opportunities for improvement, strengthen quality outcomes, and support ongoing staff education.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct internal quality and compliance audits across hospice operations.
• Evaluate documentation, processes, and clinical practices to ensure regulatory and company compliance.
• Identify gaps, recommend corrective actions, and monitor improvement plans.
• Prepare audit reports and maintain accurate compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with clinical, leadership, education, HR, and compliance teams to implement best practices.
• Partner with the Education team to develop training based on audit findings and support onboarding, orientation, and annual education.
• Assist branches in preparing for regulatory surveys through mock audits and readiness activities.
• Analyze quality metrics and SHP data to drive performance improvement.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and hospice Conditions of Participation.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, attend case conferences as needed, and provide backup support for the Hospice Clinical Educator role.
• Travel to branch locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse Associates Degree in Related Field or Industry
• Proficiency in HOPE tool and related review, actions and planning aligned to CMS guidelines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
• Ability to handle stressful situations/deadlines.
• Strong computer and software skills with knowledge of Home Care Home Base highly preferred.
• Self‑starter, goal directed with ability to work independently and stay focused without on‑site supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively with agency staff, upper management, and other members of the health care team.
