Position Overview

Sanford Health is seeking a BE/BC Hospice Medicine physician to join the team, with a desire to serve as the Medical Director.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee hospice programs, providing education to physicians across the organization.
• Manage the Sanford Hospice program based in Sioux Falls, SD, with branches in SD and MN.
• Supervise a comprehensive hospice care setting including Home Hospice, four Residential Hospice Cottages, and a 20-bed Adult/Pediatric Inpatient Hospice House.
• Provide disease management and address pain and symptom control for hospice patients.
• Demonstrate experience in caring for terminally ill patients.
• Promote teamwork and collaboration within the interdisciplinary team, referral sources, and the community.
• Flexible work schedule with call coverage.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team including Advanced Practice Providers, Nurses, Pastoral Care, Social Workers, Case Managers, and Medical Ethicists.
