Job summary

Geiss Med Hospice is seeking an experienced Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS) to guide our hospice clinical team and uphold exceptional patient care. You will lead interdisciplinary clinical staff, ensure compliance with regulations, and drive outcomes for patients and families.

As clinical leader, you will oversee all patient care services, mentor staff, manage regulatory compliance, and advance QAPI initiatives while maintaining compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing with the state.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in hospice or home health (past 5 years).
• Strong working knowledge of hospice regulations and Medicare CoPs.
• Experience leading interdisciplinary clinical teams and managing staffing.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, coaching, and organization skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical setting.
• No disciplinary action on license in past seven years; OIG screening compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, supervision, and support for all hospice clinical staff.
• Ensure patient-centered care per individualized plans of care.
• Maintain compliance with Medicare CoPs, state hospice regs, and agency policies.
• Oversee clinical staffing, scheduling, and nurse caseloads for safety and compliance.
• Develop and manage the agency's patient acuity system for staffing balance.
• Lead IDG process and collaborate with Medical Director on patient care decisions.
• Monitor documentation accuracy and medical record compliance.
• Lead onboarding, orientation, and ongoing staff development initiatives.
• Participate in QAPI activities, audits, and adverse event reviews.
• Ensure survey readiness and lead during regulatory surveys.
• Designate a DPCS designee to provide leadership coverage as needed.
• Foster a culture of compassion, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
