Job summary

Atlantic Health in New Jersey is seeking a Staff Chaplain to provide spiritual care to patients, families and staff, offering interfaith counseling and supportive guidance across hospital settings. The role includes crisis response, coordinating religious observances, and active participation in hospital and community committees, while building awareness and implementing compassionate care strategies.

Board certification and prior healthcare chaplaincy experience are preferred qualifications for

Qualifications

Master's degree in theology or related field required.
Completion of four CPE units required.
Experience working as a Staff Chaplain is required.
Board certification by a National Accrediting Body is required.

Responsibilities

Assists families in crisis and responds to on-call needs and provides clinical presence with patients/families.
Coordinates religious holiday observances and conducts interfaith services.
Participates as an active member of hospital, corporate, community, and interdisciplinary committees.
Creates and sustains an advanced level of staff and patient awareness.
Develops and implements strategies to achieve innovative goals.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
