Job summary

Bristol Hospice is seeking a compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our DaySpring Hospice team in Dothan, AL. This PRN, hourly role supports adults and children with terminal illnesses, under supervision of a collaborating physician.

You will complete histories and exams, develop care plans, and coordinate hospice services to ensure high-quality, patient-centered end-of-life care in the community.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Master's degree with NP clinical experience; hospice or palliative care preferred.
• Accreditation from an approved certifying body for advanced practice nursing as required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care and palliate and manage terminal illness under physician supervision for adults and children.
• Perform history and physicals, order and interpret tests, diagnose conditions and document findings.
• Develop individualized care plans, prescribe treatments, obtain consultations and coordinate hospice services.
• Complete hospice face-to-face visits to assess eligibility during benefit periods.
• Provide clinical information to the hospice medical director for eligibility decisions.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to review and revise the care plan and ensure symptom control.
