Job summary

Moments Hospice is seeking a licensed Music Therapist to lead music therapy interventions for patients in hospice care. You will work across the clinical team to alleviate symptoms and improve comfort for patients in their final days.

The role emphasizes autonomy, travel, and collaboration, with on-the-road duties and a compensation package that includes a company car, insurance, and cell phone. Must hold CBMT and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Music Practitioner or graduate of a program focused on music as an intervention for health and wellness.
• Board Certified as a Music Therapist (CBMT).
• Ability to play at least one instrument
• Understanding hospice philosophy and comfort providing specialized care to the terminally ill
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Valid Driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist patients in music therapy interventions.
• Reduce symptoms like anxiety, depression, isolation, agitation through music.
• Educate the clinical team on music therapy appropriateness and contraindications.
• Maintain accurate records within 24 hours of sessions and update as needed.

• Ability to follow all safety rules and regulations (Vulnerable Adult/Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to Know)
• Valid Driver’s license
