Phoenix Home Care and Hospice is seeking a licensed Music Therapist to join our hospice team in Joplin, Missouri. You will assess patients, create personalized treatment plans, and provide music therapy sessions to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs at end of life.

This role emphasizes pain management, anxiety reduction, mood improvement, and support for families, with visits to patients in their homes in Joplin and surrounding areas.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program.
• Certification Board for Music Therapist (CBMT).
• Valid driver's license and auto liability insurance.

Music Therapy in Hospice care is a proven method in which trained and certified music therapists uses music to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs of individuals facing end-of-life, as well as their families. Hospice Music Therapists assess patients, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide music therapy sessions to help manage pain, reduce anxiety, and improve mood.
Music therapy provides the most benefit to patients who:

• Lack social interaction or sensory stimulation
• Experience pain and symptoms that are difficult to control through traditional medical interventions
• Feel anxious or are affected by dementia
• Look for a concrete way to cope or to define or articulate feelings or thoughts
• Face communication problems due to physical or intellectual impairments
• Need spiritual support, possibly involving other family members
• Enjoy music to enhance their quality of life or maintain dignity
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program.
