Job summary

The ideal candidate will be a licensed MD or DO with hospice/palliative experience, active DEA license, and strong collaboration and communication skills to lead IDG care planning and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed MD or DO in the practicing state(s).
• Active DEA license required.
• Active driver’s license required.
• Strong understanding of primary medical care principles.
• Working knowledge of hospice and palliative care.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical leadership and oversight for hospice services to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Support hospice eligibility determinations, care planning, symptom management, and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as a clinical leader within the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) for care planning and quality improvement.
• Complete required certifications, recertifications, and face-to-face encounter attestations per hospice regulations.
• Participate in on-call coverage to ensure 24/7 physician availability and timely clinical support.
• Lead and support hospice physicians through recruitment, development, mentorship, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with physicians, hospitals, and referral partners.
• Engage in professional and community activities that advance the organization's mission.
• Provide direct patient care and clinical consultation as needed.
