Gentiva Hospice seeks a Medical Director to provide clinical oversight of hospice physicians, ensuring compassionate, goal-directed care in compliance with Medicare and state regulations. The role includes leading recruitment, training, and performance reviews, with 24/7 on-call coverage and active participation in IDG meetings.

Ideal candidate has board certification in Hospice/Palliative Medicine, an unrestricted CA license, and willingness to travel 15–25% to support multi-location programs.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification in Hospice/Palliative Medicine preferred.
• Current and unrestricted medical license in the practicing state.
• NPI and DEA registrations as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hospice physicians across locations and ensure quality medical services.
• Certify and recertify hospice eligibility in compliance with regulations.
• Lead physician recruitment, training, supervision, and performance evaluation.
• Provide 24/7/365 on-call coverage coordination with hospice physicians.
• Participate in IDG meetings and ensure compliant medication management.
• Support policy development, QAPI initiatives, and community partnerships.
