Job summary

Gentiva Hospice is seeking a dedicated Hospice Medical Director to join our leadership team. You will provide expert clinical oversight to hospice physicians, ensuring compassionate, goal-directed care while upholding high medical standards.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, oversee regulatory compliance, and drive quality improvement to enhance patient outcomes. This is a safety-sensitive leadership role with travel 15-25% and will invoic e Gentiva for services rendered.

Qualifications

MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Board certification in a relevant ABMS or AOA specialty (preferred primary care).
Current unrestricted medical license in the practicing state.
NPI and DEA registration for controlled substances.
Hospice and Palliative Medicine board certification preferred.
PECOS and Medicaid certification if required.

Responsibilities

Oversee quality medical services provided by hospice physicians across locations.
Certify and recertify hospice eligibility per Medicare and regulations.
Lead physician recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluations.
Provide 24/7/365 on-call physician coverage coordination.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and support regulatory reviews.
Participate in IDG meetings to coordinate care and med management.
Monitor pharmacy utilization and appropriate prescribing.
