Presbyterian Homes & Services is seeking a Hospice Medical Director to join Optage Hospice, assuming overall responsibility for the medical component of our hospice program. You will align with the interdisciplinary team, certify eligibility, and lead medical direction with focus on end‑of‑life care and regulatory compliance.

The role requires board certification, licensure in MN/WI, and leadership capabilities to guide staff and ensure high-quality patient care in a mission-driven organization.

Qualificações

• Board Certified Physician; required.
• Experience in geriatrics, internal medicine, palliative medicine, or related field; hospice program and admin experience preferred.
• Physician licensure in Minnesota and Wisconsin; hospice/palliative board certification preferred.
• Knowledge of hospice philosophy, medical aspects of hospice care, current research, pain and symptom management.
• Leadership skills to supervise staff; strong time management and organization.

Responsabilidades

• Provide medical oversight of the hospice program and ensure qualified medical staff.
• Serve as physician representative of the IDG.
• Review eligibility for hospice, certify/recertify patients.
• Develop and implement plans of care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Manage medical care in consultation with attending physicians; coordinate 24/7 on-call coverage.
• Perform home and inpatient visits; arrange palliative care consults as needed.
• Act as resource on pain and symptom management; educate staff and physicians.
• Develop/review clinical protocols and patient care policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with regulations.
