Gentiva Health Services, Inc. is looking for a committed Hospice Medical Director to provide expert clinical oversight. In this role, you will manage the delivery of compassionate care to hospice patients while ensuring regulatory compliance and improving patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current medical license in Ohio.
• Ability to travel 15-25% based on program needs.
• CPR and TB clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quality medical services delivered by hospice physicians.
• Certify and recertify hospice eligibility.
• Conduct and supervise patient visits for complex cases.
• Lead physician recruitment and training.
• Provide 24/7 on-call physician coverage coordination.

Skills

Extensive knowledge of hospice and palliative care principles

Leadership and mentorship skills

Strong organizational skills

Compassionate communication and empathy

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education

Doctorate degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine

Board certification in a specialty recognized by ABMS or AOA-BOS

Hospice and Palliative Medicine board certification preferred

Tools

NPI and DEA registration for controlled substances
