Job summary

The Hospice Medical Director at Four Seasons NC oversees medical components of the hospice program, establishing standards, monitoring quality, and ensuring compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation and state regulations.

The role includes supervision of hospice physicians/providers, collaboration with executive leadership, and participation in certification activities to support high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with an unrestricted NC license.
• Hospice and Palliative Medicine board certification or HMDC preferred.
• Minimum 3 years clinical practice and 2 years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Lead medical standards and monitoring for hospice program.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with Medicare/Medicaid and state laws.
• Direct supervision of hospice physicians/providers.
• Collaborate with Leadership to improve care access and quality.
• Provide on-call coverage and participate in provider scheduling.
• Review providers' documentation for eligibility, billing, and audits.
• Represent the organization in external committees and forums.
• Support care access and hospice addendum processes.
