Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide direct patient care and contribute to recovery as part of our compassionate care team. You will assess conditions, administer medications, and document care while collaborating with RNs and physicians to implement individualized plans.

Ideal candidates hold a CA LVN license, BRN-approved program, CPR certification, and at least two years of acute care experience. Hospice LVN experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a BRN approved school of vocational nursing.
• Minimum two years acute care experience within previous five years.
• Licensed Vocational Nurse: CA
• Basic Life Support - CPR through an American Heart Association provider
• Driver's License: CA
• Auto Insurance

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process for planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care. Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and updates Plan of Care as appropriate to patient condition/need
• Performs documentation in patient records that is timely, accurate, and concise
• Provides appropriate support at time of death
• Performs efficiently in emergency situations, following established protocols, appropriate communication and documentation
• Communicates with Interdisciplinary Team members regarding patient status and changes to Plan of Care per Hospice policy
• Assumes responsibility for professional growth by taking advantage of the available opportunities. Participates in peer review and staff development, which includes unit and quality process improvement activities
