Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide direct patient care as part of a compassionate healthcare team. You will assess patients, administer medications, document care, and collaborate with RNs and physicians to implement individualized care plans.

Requirements include a CA LVN license, minimum of two years acute care within the last five years, BLS CPR through the American Heart Association, and a CA driver’s license with auto insurance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a BRN approved school of vocational nursing.
• Minimum two years acute care experience within previous five years.
• Licensed Vocational Nurse: CA.
• Basic Life Support - CPR through an American Heart Association provider.
• Driver's License: CA.
• Auto Insurance

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process for planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care. Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and updates Plan of Care as appropriate to patient condition/need.
• Performs documentation in patient records that is timely, accurate, and concise.
• Provides appropriate support at time of death.
• Performs efficiently in emergency situations, following established protocols, appropriate communication and documentation.
• Communicates with Interdisciplinary Team members regarding patient status and changes to Plan of Care per Hospice policy.
• Assumes responsibility for professional growth by taking advantage of the available opportunities. Participates in peer review and staff development, which includes unit and quality process improvement activities
