Job summary

VITAS Healthcare is seeking an LPN/LVN to administer nursing care per the plan of care for terminally ill patients enrolled in the VITAS program. The role requires licensure in the state of practice and at least one year of nursing experience, including hospital medical-surgical exposure.

You will work under a registered nurse and participate in ongoing patient education and care coordination. The position emphasizes compassionate bedside care, documentation, and adherence to Nurse Practice Act

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Practical/Vocational nursing.
• Currently licensed to practice nursing in the state where the VITAS program is located.
• At least one year of satisfactory nursing experience, at least one year as an LPN/LVN on an adult medical surgical unit.
• Equivalent experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct skilled bedside nursing care.
• Evaluates patient/family needs and assists in the interdisciplinary plan of care for each patient on the team.
• Performs selected nursing acts under supervision, including administration of treatments and medications.
• Evaluates effectiveness of treatments and monitors patient reactions.
• Reports significant findings to the nurse, Team Manager or Physician and documents in clinical notes.

Education

Graduate of an approved school of Practical/Vocational nursing.
