Job summary

VITAS Healthcare Corporation is seeking a licensed practical/vocational nurse (LPN/LVN) to administer nursing care to terminally ill patients under an interdisciplinary plan of care in accordance with state regulations. The role includes direct bedside care, collaboration with the care team, and on-call rotation as needed.

The LPN/LVN will document care, monitor patient responses to treatments, and participate in teaching patients and families about the illness, treatments, and self-care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Practical/Vocational nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct skilled bedside nursing care.
• Evaluates patient/family needs and assists in the plan of care.
• Performs acts under RN supervision, including administration of treatments and medications.
• Evaluates treatment effectiveness and monitors patient reactions.
• Reports significant findings to RN/Team Manager/Physician and documents in notes.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment; ensures accurate documentation.
