Job summary

Alive Hospice, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Inpatient Unit in Nashville. The role offers a full-time schedule with a rotating 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. shift and every-other-weekend coverage at the Nashville Inpatient Residence.

Under RN supervision, the LPN provides compassionate, goal-directed care to terminally ill patients and supports families, focusing on comfort, safety, and coordination with the care team.

Qualifications

• LPN with a current Tennessee nursing license.
• Knowledge of hospice care or willingness to learn hospice care.
• Minimum of two years nursing practice or equivalent experience; hospice, oncology or home health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to assigned patients using the nursing process and current standards.
• Collaborate with the IDT, patient, and family to establish and implement hospice plan of care.
• Administer medications as ordered and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Document per procedure and standards of practice; communicate patient changes to Charge Nurse and IPU team.
• Educate patients and families on disease process, hospice care, and signs of approaching death.
