Job summary

Avow in Naples, FL is seeking a dedicated kitchen associate to prepare meals according to regulations and Avow standards, with duties spanning food prep, ordering, labeling, and cross-training.

The role requires preparing and plating meals, maintaining meal quality, and ensuring proper temperatures and presentation. Must obtain ServSafe within 90 days and Food Handlers within 60 days; shifts include 12-hour and 4-hour blocks, hourly pay in the range shown.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combo of education and experience.
• Computer skills including database software and general knowledge of e-mail/Outlook. Ability to check patient menus on the computer. Process inventory or ordering supplies if needed.
• Language skills: reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages/fractions.
• Certificates: Florida driver’s license. ServSafe Food Manager Certification within 90 days. Food Handlers Certification within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Order food and kitchen supplies from supplier.
• Check in and place food and supplies deliveries in proper storage areas.
• Prepare food according to recipes and directions.
• Prepare and prep food for the week to maintain consistency.
• Communicate with kitchen staff about what has been prepped for serving.
• Adjust temperature controls for ovens, broilers, and grills.
• Prepare and plate food for serving.
• Ensure food is served at proper temperature and presented per standards.
• Keep all food labeled correctly and stored in correct locations.
• Keep kitchens and nurses stations stocked with labeled drinks and snacks.
• Must bake cookies, muffins, brownies, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, floors, mats, walls, and vents.
• Stay ready for inspections.
• Report equipment issues and initiate repairs.
• May cross-train in other departments as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.
