Job summary

Medi Home Health and Hospice, a division of Medical Services of America, is seeking an experienced Full-Time Intake Coordinator in West Jefferson, NC. This role focuses on receiving referrals and scheduling patient care personnel as needed.

Responsibilities include collecting insurance details, verifying patient history in the EMR, maintaining assignment screens, and updating patient status as required for scheduling and payer verification.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in the health care industry, preferably hospice care.
• Previous customer service and data entry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain all pertinent information regarding insurance of patient (address, phone number, exhaustion of benefits, eligibility, etc.).
• Check the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to verify whether or not the patient was a previous patient.
• Create and update patients’ assignment screen.
• Update and/or change patient status as necessary (pending payer verification, ready for scheduling, etc.).
