Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is hiring for a hospital housekeeping role in the Hospice Residence. The position involves cleaning patient rooms, restrooms, and common areas with attention to safety and efficiency, restocking supplies, and assisting nursing staff with laundry management and moving equipment as needed.

Wage ranges from $17.00 to $22.88 per hour, with shift differentials possible. Vaccination against influenza is required.

Qualifications

• Cleaning experience in a hospital or industrial setting.
• Ability to read and write to understand directions and warnings on cleaning supplies and postings.
• Interpersonal skills to be pleasant and courteous with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail for a majority of the workday.

Responsibilities

• Follows work schedule and performs all daily and weekly tasks to meet cleanliness standards.
• Provides thorough cleaning and restocks all supplies in assigned areas.
• Cleans floors by dry and damp mopping and moves/cleans behind equipment as needed.
• Takes initiative to perform dusting and keeps vents dust-free.
• Removes trash from assigned work areas at shift start and end.
• Spot washes walls or carpets when needed.
• Polishes stainless steel, brass, and other smooth surfaces.
• Maintains equipment and reports unsafe conditions.
• Maintains par level of supplies and keeps carts/closets organized.
• Attends in-services and meetings as required.
