Job summary

PruittHealth Hospice is seeking a Registered Nurse – Director of Nursing to lead our hospice care team in Rocky Mount, NC. This role focuses on coordinating hospice services, supervising an interdisciplinary team, and ensuring regulatory compliance to deliver compassionate patient- and family-centered care.

The DON will oversee admissions, care planning, and QA initiatives, serving as a clinical and community liaison for hospice education and outreach.

Qualifications

• Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in state of practice.
• 1+ years of field hospice experience.
• 1+ years of leadership experience (preferred).
• Strong clinical skills and understanding of Hospice and Palliative Care.
• Valid driver's license and CPR certification.
• Experience in hospice, home health, med/surg, or oncology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate hospice services for patients and families.
• Supervise interdisciplinary team members (nurses, social workers, chaplains, etc.).
• Oversee admissions, care planning, and compliance with state/federal regulations.
• Ensure quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a clinical and community liaison for hospice education and outreach.
