Job summary

Pride Health is seeking a Hospice Director/Administrator in Texas to lead clinical and operational hospice functions. The role oversees patient care services, regulatory compliance, staff development, and financial oversight while maintaining compassionate end-of-life care.

The ideal candidate will hold an active Texas RN license, preferably a BSN, and have experience in hospice administration. Strong leadership and collaboration with care teams are essential.

Qualifications

  • Active Texas RN license required.
  • 2+ years hospice administration experience preferred.
  • Completion of 16 hours of hospice-specific administrative education within 12 months of hire required.
  • Strong clinical leadership, staff management, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and operational skills.
  • Ability to work in both clinical and administrative environments and provide patient care when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Direct day-to-day hospice operations and ensure delivery of quality, patient-centered hospice services.
  • Provide clinical leadership as the RN leader and ensure care aligns with hospice philosophy and interdisciplinary plans of care.
  • Provide direct patient care when needed and ensure effective communication among patients, families, and care team members.
  • Develop strategic goals, monitor performance outcomes, and maintain compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate staff while supporting ongoing education and professional development.
  • Manage department staffing, payroll/timecards, annual budget, billing reconciliation, medication discrepancies, and charge management.
  • Lead quality and performance improvement initiatives and monitor departmental quality metrics.
  • Serve as a liaison with hospitals, physicians, healthcare agencies, community organizations, clergy, and other partners.
  • Represent hospice services at community events, health fairs, professional meetings, and other outreach activities.
  • Participate in committees, maintain required policies and procedures, and ensure completion of mandatory hospice administration training.

Job description

An experienced RN hospice leader/administrator with strong clinical judgment, operational leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a commitment to compassionate end-of-life care. Candidates open to a Temp-to-Perm transition are strongly preferred.
