Job summary

ATEX Hospice - Valley in McAllen, TX seeks a dedicated PRN CNA to join our compassionate hospice team. You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, assist with transfers, and help document patient needs and changes to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements include a state‑recognized CNA pathway or nurse aide training, a valid driver's license, and at least one year of related hospice or long‑term care experience. Reliable transportation is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred; nurse aide training/competency eval required per state regulations.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Minimum of one year experience as Hospice Aide or CNA preferred.
• Ability to read, write and verbally report clinical information.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN direction and Plan of Care.
• Assist with safe transfers and ambulation per policy.
• Report changes and document care to ensure continuity of care.
• Practice infection control principles and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Promote respectful communication with patient, family and staff.
• Assist with proper nutrition and adequate fluid intake.
