Job summary

Gentiva Hospice is seeking a dedicated Hospice Aide (CNA) to provide compassionate, hands-on care in patients' homes or designated facilities. You will assist with daily living activities, mobility, meals, and comfort, while documenting visits and communicating changes to the team.

The ideal candidate holds an active CNA license in the state, CPR certification, and a valid driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in the state of employment is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Driver's license and reliable vehicle with insurance are required.
• Six months of direct patient care experience is required.
• Comfortable working in home settings, hospice facilities, or long-term care environments.
• Demonstrated compassion, patience and ability to handle emotional situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming and toileting.
• Support safe mobility with walkers and wheelchairs.
• Help with meal preparation, feeding and light housekeeping.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition.
• Offer emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of visits.
• Attend team meetings and participate in Quality Improvement activities.
• Practice infection control and follow safety protocols at all times.
