Job summary

Sanctuary Hospice in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a Full Time Hospice Aide (CNA) to provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients at the end of life. You will work closely with the nursing team to meet physical, emotional and personal needs with respect and professionalism.

Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, with coverage across North Chicago area. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, active CNA license in Illinois, CPR if required, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Holds current unencumbered CNA certificate in the state.
• Minimum 1 year CNA experience in an acute care or long-term care setting; hospice experience a plus.
• CPR certification if state required
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on, patient-centered care to hospice patients.
• Assist with personal care tasks and daily activities with dignity and respect.
• Support families with education and compassionate communication.
• Maintain accurate documentation per agency policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive care.
