Job summary

Tidewell Hospice, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated CNA to support patients in private homes, long-term care facilities, or assisted-living facilities in the South Sarasota and Charlotte County area on a PRN basis. Shifts are 8 hours (day shift), and the role requires a commitment of 64 hours per month.

You'll perform personal care per an assigned Hospice Aide Plan, report changes to the nurse, and maintain confidentiality while delivering compassionate Full Life Care

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
• Valid Florida State Driver's License.
• This is only required if colleague chooses driving herself/himself as mode of transportation when reassigned to work at another facility.
• This is not a requirement if the colleague chooses an alternative means of transportation when reassigned to another facility based on business needs.
• Regardless of the mode chosen, both are at the colleague's own expense, with the exception of mileage reimbursement eligibility when traveling between facilities while on company time.
• One to Three Years of training and/or experience required.
• One year of experience in a long term care facility strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports and carries out the organization's mission, vision, and values on a consistent basis.
• Performs only those personal care/home maintenance activities contained in a written assignment (Hospice Aide Plan of Care) by a health professional employee.
• Recognizes and reports unusual conditions, incidents or behavior of a patient and/or patient/family interaction to the patient's nurse or supervisory nurse.
• Recognizes the role of the Hospice Aide and works within that scope of practice at all times.
• Maintains utmost respect for confidentiality in care of the patient/family.
