Qualifications

• CNA certification in Texas is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN direction.
• Assist patients with safe transfers and ambulation.
• Promote positive communication with patients and families.
• Maintain patient privacy and protect property.
• Assist with nutrition and fluid intake as prescribed.
• Contribute to efficient operation of Hospice services.
• Perform treatments and procedures per Hospice policy.
• Support Hospice philosophy and admin policies to ensure quality care.
• Report changes and document care rendered for continuity of care.
• Practice infection control to provide a clean, safe environment.

Essential Functions

• Provides direct patient care to patient under direction of the RN and according to the Aide Plan of Care.
• Provides necessary skills to assist the patient with safe transfers and ambulation per the Hospice policy.
• Promotes positive, supportive, respectful communication to patient/family and other employees.
• Provides an environment which promotes respect for patient, privacy, and property.
• Provides skills necessary to assist the patient with proper nutrition and adequate fluid intake.
• Contributes to the management and efficient operation of the Hospice and demonstrate effective time management skills.
• Provides skills necessary to perform treatments and procedures according to the Hospice policy.
• Promotes the Hospice philosophy and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
• Provides necessary skill to appropriately report changes and document pertinent information and care rendered to patient to ensure continuity of care.
• Practices accepted infection control principles. Provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
