Job summary

Solace Hospice & Palliative Care Inc. in Saint Charles, IL is seeking a compassionate Hospice Chaplain to join our care team.

You will provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and families at life's most profound moments, respecting diverse faith backgrounds and beliefs. Responsibilities include bedside visits, end-of-life rituals, collaboration with nurses, social workers, and physicians, and documenting spiritual care plans.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Divinity, Theology, Pastoral Care or related field preferred.
• Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) or APC/NACC eligibility preferred.
• 1–2 years of clinical chaplaincy experience, preferably in hospice or healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual and emotional support to hospice patients and families.
• Conduct bedside visits, memorials, and end-of-life rituals per patient wishes.
• Collaborate with the care team to address holistic patient needs.
• Document spiritual needs, goals, and care plans in medical records.
• Offer bereavement support to grieving families.
• Coordinate with community clergy for requested services.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning.
