Job summary

Alamo Hospice is seeking a PRN Chaplain to join our team in Waco. This role offers flexible hours and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered spiritual care within an established hospice setting.

You will provide direct spiritual support and bereavement counseling to patients and families, working with an interfaith team to address diverse beliefs. A seminary education and CPE are preferred, with a valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology and/or a certificate of ordination or commission from a religious faith group; CPE preferred.
• Hospice experience with death and dying is preferred.
• Comfortable in an interfaith setting and respectful of diverse beliefs and values.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Performs spiritual bereavement assessments of patients and families in a timely manner.
• Provides direct spiritual care and bereavement counseling to patients and families.
• Demonstrates exceptional service to patients, families, referral sources, coworkers and other customers.
• Documents patient services accurately to reflect the plan of care.
• Attends group meetings to coordinate care and interdisciplinary involvement.
• Provides consultation and education to the interdisciplinary group on spiritual care and bereavement.
• Participates in Continuous Care and on-call duties as needed.
