Job summary

Three Oaks Hospice in Texas seeks a Chaplain to provide spiritual care in the home for terminally ill patients and their families. You will assess spiritual needs and provide counseling to meet those needs, coordinating with local clergy as needed.

As a core member of the Interdisciplinary Group/Team (IDG/IDT), you will support holistic care planning and collaborate with other professionals to honor patients' religious and cultural wishes.

Qualifications

• In good standing with denomination or religious affiliation.
• Master of Divinity preferred; college degree preferred.
• One year experience as a Chaplain in a health care institution preferred.
• Working knowledge of community spiritual resources.
• Reliable transportation; valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care in the home to terminally ill patients and their families.
• Assess patient and family spiritual needs and provide counseling.
• Facilitate visits by local clergy or pastoral counselors to support spiritual needs.
• Participate as a core member of the Interdisciplinary Group/Team (IDG/IDT).

Qualifications:

• In good standing with denomination or religious affiliation College degree preferred; Master of Divinity preferred
• Experience in a spiritual or religious organization. One (1) year experience as a Chaplain in a health care institution preferred.
• Working knowledge of community spiritual resources. Good interpersonal skills.
