Job summary

Deercreekseniorliving is seeking a Hospice Chaplain to provide compassionate spiritual support to patients and families in a hospice setting.

You will perform assessments, collaborate with the care team, and lead bereavement services while educating staff on diverse spiritual practices. A Master’s in Divinity or Theology and CPR certification are required, with hospice experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Divinity, Theology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a chaplaincy, preferably in hospice or palliative care settings.
  • Familiarity with various spiritual/cultural practices related to end-of-life care.
  • Certification by a recognized chaplaincy organization (e.g., APC, NACC) is a plus.
  • Minimum of one year's experience in hospice.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR Certification.
  • A licensed driver with an insured automobile.

Responsibilities

  • Hospice Chaplain: Provide spiritual support to patients and families, respecting their beliefs.
  • Conduct assessments and document spiritual assessments to guide care.
  • Collaborate with the care team to integrate spiritual support into the plan.
  • Bereavement counseling for families during and after patient passing.
  • Plan memorial services or rituals as requested by the family.
  • Educate staff on spiritual care and cultural diversity.
  • Coordinate with community faith resources when needed.
  • Maintain confidential documentation of care and interactions.
