Job summary

Bluegrass Care Navigators seeks a Hospice Chaplain to provide compassionate spiritual care to patients, families, and caregivers within the hospice philosophy. The chaplain conducts spiritual assessments, counseling, and guidance directly or via coordination with community resources, while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

The role supports holistic patient care and adheres to organizational policies and licensure requirements.

Qualifications

• Chaplain I requires a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in theological studies or equivalent.
• Chaplain II requires a Master of Divinity and eligibility for professional chaplain certification.
• Ordination or endorsement in good standing is required.
• Completion of two CPE units.
• Knowledge of death, dying, and bereavement processes.
• Ability to provide care across diverse faith traditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate spiritual care and support to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Conduct spiritual assessments, counseling, and guidance.
• Coordinate with community spiritual resources as needed.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to licensure and organizational policies.
